Despite the faults, From the Abyss is a solid dungeon crawler. It does what it does well for the genre, and it is very easy to pick up and play. In the long run however, it's not going to be memorable game.
Phantom Abyss is a game where players dive into a series of procedurally-generated temples where they have to reach the end and secure the golden idol. Players will be faced with a wide variety of classic traps along the way, as well as facing off against the Guardian of the temple who will try to hinder the players progress.
My favorite is the lighning whip, for the sames reasons than SnakesTGK, plus the fact it reduce the time you need to complete a run.
The guardian cap at 5m/s. When it is the case, you can still outrun him in a straight line, so I guess you are running between 7 and 9m/s. Just don't assume you are okay, because he will be breathing on your neck the second you have Phantom Abyss Speedrun to stop or take a turn.

While the ability gives you some pretty good mid-air horizontal movement, it is outclassed by most other movement options. Not a useless ability, but it doesn't have much utility either.
Phantom Abyss is a massive asynchronous multiplayer game that casts players into procedurally-generated temples and tasks them with retrieving the sacred relics hidden within deadly chambers. Speedhackers already? I may be out of the loop, but I occasionally see phantoms that run at 2x or 3x the speed of a regular person, and depending on what type of whip I'm running, that takes steam out of my sails.
